Our story
Being a Professional luthier who has grown tired of the high cost of materials and the overall cost of traditional guitars, which excludes many would-be musicians from ever realizing their dream of playing a stringed instrument. I decided to build a brand of inexpensive, high-quality three- and four-string acoustic and electric guitars for players of different skill levels and price points. Cigar Box Guitars / Hobo Box Guitars are made of various items not found on traditional instruments. We do use authentic cigar boxes on some of our builds, and we also manufacture various styles of our own boxes and necks for our CBGs using domestic and repurposed woods, making each CBG we build unique!
